Alert Logic Launches Security For Amazon Cloud

Houston-based Alert Logic announced Tuesday general availability of Threat Manger, which collects and correlates unusual behavior patterns in applications to identify potential threats.

"Alert Logic’s security-as-a-service offering for Amazon Web Services is a network intrusion solution built from the ground-up to support Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) and provide this mandatory component of PCI compliance," Misha Govsteyn, vice president of emerging products at Alert Logic, said in a statement. PCI is the standard used in securing credit card transactions.

Alert Logic sells security via subscription. Other services sold through Amazon include ActiveWatch, which provides 24-hour monitoring by security analysts.

Subscribers to Alert Logic's latest service include Element115.net, according to Alert Logic. Chicago-based Element115.net uses Amazon EC2 to sell Web-based content management services for the health-care, retail and financial services industries.
