Russian-based security vendor Kaspersky Lab has announced the promotion of its North American channel chief and marketing head.

Christopher Doggett was promoted to the role of senior vice president of corporate sales in North America. Kaspersky said Doggett, who was vice president of channel sales, will now develop and oversee all of the company's business-to-business sales activities.

Additionally, Chris Gaebler, previously vice president of consumer marketing, was promoted to senior vice president of marketing, North America, the company said.

Both will report directly to Steve Orenberg, president, Kaspersky Lab North America.

Doggett will remain channel chief for Kaspersky Lab North America. A company spokesperson said there are no plans to fill the vice president of channel sales role. The company's director of VAR and director of LAR will report to Doggett. "Chris will remain intimately involved in the channel and sales organization," a company spokesperson told CRN.

Doggett brings more than 12 years of B2B, channel and security industry experience. He previously served as the global channel leader for Sophos, where he was responsible for the strategic direction and execution of Sophos's Partner Program worldwide.

Doggett joined Kaspersky Lab in March 2012 and made significant changes to the Kaspersky Lab North American Partner Program. In July, Doggett announced that Kaspersky was doubling its incentives for partners bringing new contracts to the table. The changes established deal protection for partners, increased the financial incentives and removed some of the criteria to make it easier for partners to register their opportunities. Doggett also helped Kaspersky Lab introduce its new Managed Services Provider program.

The Kaspersky partner program offers two tiers of rewards for strategically engaged Kaspersky sales organizations and those that only sell occasionally or are new to the program. Doggett also extended license renewals, offering the partner of record additional rewards on each renewal they proactively pursue.

"He has helped spur partner growth -- with expanded support and partner enablement over the past year, most Kaspersky Lab partners achieved sales growth rates that significantly exceeded those of the industry overall while Kaspersky Lab saw double-digit growth rates in its partner community," the company said in a statement.

Chris Gaebler joined Kaspersky Lab early 2012, helping the company launch a consumer marketing campaign called Safegaurding Me. He also led an award-winning direct response campaign and a co-marketed initiative with Warner Bros. blockbuster motion picture "The Dark Knight Rises."
