NetApp has made a couple of high-level additions to its upper management team, including a new CTO and a new chief strategy officer.
The storage vendor on Thursday said long-term NetApp employee Jay Kidd has been appointed CTO and senior vice president. Kidd, who will report to Manish Goel, executive vice president of product operations, is responsible for shaping the company's technology vision.
Kidd, who in the past was CTO at Brocade, most recently served as senior vice president of product strategy and development for NetApp's Storage Solutions group.

Kidd joined NetApp in 2005.
Kidd takes over the NetApp CTO role from Brian Pawlowski. A NetApp spokesperson said Pawlowski is still with NetApp and is now working on an R&D project. No details about the project could be provided, the spokesperson said.
NetApp on Thursday also unveiled the hiring of Jonathan Kissane as its new chief strategy officer and senior vice president. Kissane, who will be responsible for corporate development initiatives, including acquisitions, equity investments and strategic relationships, will report to NetApp President and CEO Tom Georgens.
Prior to joining NetApp, Kissane was senior vice president of corporate development at CA Technologies.
A CA spokesperson said that company has initiated an internal and external search for a replacement for Kissane.
