  • Chelsio The Latest To Introduce iSCSI Target Software
    Chelsio Communications has become the latest entrant in the race to help solution providers build low-cost iSCSI appliances with software to turn ordinary servers into storage arrays. The company, which is better known as a developer of high-performance 10-Gbit Ethernet controllers and iSCSI acceleration adapters, is making its first foray into the stand-alone software space with iSCSI Target 3.0, software which turns an industry-standard server into an iSCSI array.
  • Storage VAR Merger: Datalink Buys MCSI For $14M
    Datalink is doing its part to continue the consolidation of the solution provider market with its acquisition of Midrange Computer Solutions, Inc. (MCSI). Datalink, one of the country's few publicly-listed solution providers, acquired Chicago-based MCSI for a total of $14 million, including $5 million in cash and $9 million in Datalink stock. Both Datalink and MCSI are storage-focused solution providers.
