Intel, Samsung Intro Data Center SSDs

Samsung introduced two data center SSD models.

The SM843 SATA SSD is based on MLC technology and offers 80 percent less maximum latency over the company's previous enterprise-class SSDs.

It features up to 11,000 write IOPS and 70,000 read IOPS, and it is being sampled with capacity points of 120 GB, 240 GB and 480 GB. Power consumption is 28 percent less than previous models.

Samsung's SM1625 dual-port SAS SSDs provide up to 101,000 read IOPs and 41,000 write IOPs. It is available in 100-GB, 200-GB, 400-GB and 800-GB capacity points.
