Apple on its Web site is touting a one-day shopping event scheduled for Black Friday as a day "not to be missed."

Though short on details, a teaser running on the vendor's Website promises "dozens of great iPod, iPhone and Mac gift ideas" as part of Friday's shopping event. Retailers typically offer big sales and promotions on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, which marks the traditional start of the holiday shopping season.

Some bloggers have posted a version of the teaser that indicates free shipping will be offered, but the ad currently running on the Apple site omits that text.

While Apple doesn't specify what products might be on sale, Best Buy might offer some hints: The retailer currently has a number of Apple products on sale, including MacBook Pro and MacBook Air laptops, iMac desktops and iPod music players.
