General Dynamics Itronix Monday introduced its new GD8000 notebook, a rugged PC designed specifically for military personnel, first responders and field service workers.

"Our customers told us that to perform their mission-critical duties, they needed a notebook that was more rugged, had longer battery runtime and was equipped with a display they could see in all lighting conditions," said John Schneider, business unit director for General Dynamics Itronix, in a statement.

General Dynamics (whose services division ranks No. 9 in the 2008 VAR500) provided Channelweb with a photographic look at the GD8000.
