HP, headquartered in Palo Alto, Calif., will outfit Play N Trade stores with its rp5700 point-of-sale (POS) systems and assorted retail peripherals, including touch screens, receipt prints, barcode scanners and keyboards, the company said. The computing giant did not reveal the size of the Play N Trade deal but described it as "a multimillion dollar contract spanning multiple years" and stated that Play N Trade would look to HP for "all POS hardware."
Play N Trade, based in Newport Beach, Calif., describes itself as "the largest and fastest-growing video game franchise worldwide" with plans to have opened more than 300 franchises by the end of 2009.
