Trendnet offers a full line of wireless network adapters with USB 2.0 interfaces. The company’s newest model—the HotFlash TEW-429UF—in addition to being an 802.11g receiver also has a Wi-Fi hot-spot detector that lets users locate any Wi-Fi signal within a 200-foot range in less than five seconds.

It also can connect to the signal just as quickly via the integrated Wi-Fi 802.11g adapter. An internal battery, charged via USB, lets the unit be used without a computer. HotFlash also contains a 512-Mbyte flash memory drive so users can share and transport files.
