When deploying a large number of displays, it's almost a given that at least one display won't ... well, display. Hall Research Technologies' new Digital Video Coach 3 (DVC-3) is a PC/HDTV Video Test Pattern Generator with DVI, VGA, and component (Y, Pb, Pr) outputs.

The DVC-3 makes it easy to quickly test or calibrate a large number of displays before deploying them in the field and can also troubleshoot displays that are in disrepair. DVC-3 can also be used to determine the native resolution of LCD displays. The DVC-3 is compatible with LCD, plasma and CRT displays, as well as projectors.

The DVC-3 can generate all standard PC resolutions and refresh rates from 640x480 to 1280x1024 at 85 Hz. It can also generate HDTV output resolutions including 480i, 576i, 480p, 567p, 720p and 1080i, both in DVI digital and in YPbPr formats. An on-screen display (OSD) indicates output resolution and refresh rate. The DVC-3 also features 28 static and dynamic video test patterns specially for testing, calibrating, and troubleshooting high-end video gear and A/V installations.
