Citrix on Monday said it has acquired Reflectent Software, a Westford, Mass.-based application performance monitoring ISV.

Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Reflectent develops EdgeSight, a solution that monitors the performance of client-server, Web and desktop applications from an end-user perspective, according to Citrix.

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Citrix will deliver a Citrix-branded version of EdgeSight to the channel in the fourth quarter, a Citrix spokesman said. It initially won’t be included as part of Citrix's Access Suite but may be offered that way later on, he said.

EdgeSight is used by more than 150,000 end users at customers such as Georgia-Pacific, Hitachi Data Systems, Morgan Stanley, Novartis, Petco, SAP and Verizon Wireless.

A private company, Reflectent was founded in 2000 and employs 31. It will continue to operate in the Boston area as Citrix's Management Systems Group, which will be led by Lou Shipley, under the title of general manager and vice president. Shipley, Reflectent's CEO since 2003, will report to Citrix CEO Mark Templeton.
