TruSecure, a security-services provider based here, said Tuesday that it acquired Vigilinx, a Parsippany, N.J.-based security-services firm.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

TruSecure said the acquisition boosts its portfolio of security services, which include security intelligence, security assurance, managed security and consulting.

Vigilinx's IntelliShield security intelligence platform will allow TruSecure to integrate and automate the delivery of its security intelligence service in a customized format for each customer, TruSecure said.

Vigilinx burst onto the security-services market two years ago, boasting $75 million in funding and a seasoned management team led by Bruce Murphy, former head of PricewaterhouseCooper's Technology Risk Services.

The security market, though, has been consolidating for some time now. The managed security market in particular has undergone a shakeout, with companies either going out of business or being acquired by others. Managed security was a focus for Vigilinx.

A spokesman for TruSecure said 45 Vigilinx employees will join TruSecure, which will retain Vigilinx's security operations center in Ohio and its New Jersey office. Murphy was offered a position at TruSecure but declined to join the company, he said.

Ken Cavanaugh, vice president of professional services at Vigilinx, will retain that title at TruSecure, the spokesman said.
