Hackers (1995)
In this classic film, a group of young hackers discovers an evil plot aimed at unleashing a dangerous virus on society. Meanwhile, the group of friends is simultaneously dodging the Secret Service and uncovering the mastermind behind the scheme.

Experts say that one of the biggest fallacies of Hollywood high-tech is the ease of which characters can access classified files and encrypted data. The reality is, hacking doesn't take seconds. It takes months. Unlike the Hollywood features, there's no instant gratification. And it's pretty boring, most experts say. Of course, Hollywood frequently asks us to suspend our disbelief in this way, seeing as most audiences don't have three months or so to wait before the protagonist breaks into the bad guys' computer network and decrypts their files to save the day.

And perhaps the bigger question: How many hackers have someone who looks like Angelina Jolie as their girlfriends? Now that's a lot to ask of any audience.
