This tech thriller, created at the dawn of the Internet era, features Sandra Bullock playing a somewhat introverted software engineer who has her own identity stolen and replaced with one of a criminal. Bullock pretty much spends the entirety of the movie trying to find out who is out to get her and why they're trying to ruin her life.
In the film, Bullock saves a virus to a computer disk and then loads it onto the mainframe system of the Cathedral, the nefarious criminal organization that has stolen her identity and used it to commit crimes. Then, as the virus infects the computer and shuts it down, all the mayhem somehow gets reversed. All the lost and deleted information is restored, Bullock gets her identity back and all's right with the world.
"Even though the computer is dying, it has the communication with other networks to set the information right again because it has some sort of moral obligation," said Ken Salchow, manager of technical marketing for F5.
