12 Award-Winning LinuxWorld Products You've Got To Check Out

Call them the Distinguished Dozen. Twelve exhibitors at last week's LinuxWorld show in San Francisco were judged by a panel of industry experts to offer the most innovative hardware and software products and services. The following slides showcase the winners of the LinuxWorld Product Excellence Awards.

Canonical's Ubuntu Desktop Edition 8.04 LTS won the top prize for Best Desktop Solution.



Runner-up: SugarCRM's Sugar Community Edition.

Ingres' Ingres CAF (consolidated application foundation for Eclipse) open-source application development tool won for Best Application Development Tool. Shown is a screen shot of the SQL query builder feature.



Runners-up: Twiki OnDemand Enterprise and Unicon Systems' Pegasus Mobile Product Development Kit.

xTuple's xTuple ERP 3.0 took the top prize for Best Business Application. Shown is a screen shot with the software's product configurator and screen builder with scripting support.



Runners-up: Acquia's Drupal 6 and Concursive's ConcourseSuite 5.3.

Data Synapse's Fabric Server 2.6 was judged the winner in the category of Best Clustering Or Grid Solution. Shown is a screen shot from the product's Data Synapse Studio tool.

Violin Memory's Violin 1010 Memory Appliance with 1 Million IOPS Linux Driver won in the category of Most Innovative Hardware Solution.

Barracuda Networks' Barracuda Message Archiver 850 was judged the Best Messaging Solution.

Unicon Systems's Hermes Mobile Platform won in the category of Best Mobility Solution.



Runners-up: Openmoko's Neo Freerunner.
