Tech Data Cheers On The Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays are in the World Series for the first time and fans from all over Central Florida are getting in on the fun. Tech Data, headquartered just a short drive up I-275 in Clearwater, Fla., has held several "Rays Days" this year and when the team was getting ready to host Games 1 and 2, many of the distributor's employees showed their team pride.

Here, members of Tech Data's Peripherals Product Marketing team support the rays. Pictured (top row, from the left) are: Duane Jeffers, Kristi Kirby, Jennifer Ryerson, Eric Robinson, Aaron Pope, (Bottom) Denise Manzo and Kristen Critelli at the Clearwater campus.

The Rays beat the Red Sox in the American League Championship Series and one diehard Red Sox fan showed up to work at Tech Data to find her co-workers had "redecorated" her cube to support the hometown team.

During one of Tech Data's Home Game Work Days, employees could sign up for a chance at winning some cool Rays gear. Prizes on this day included an ALCS MVP Matt Garza autographed baseball.

Troy Carter, a product sales champion at Tech Data, shows his commitment to the team with his own Rayhawk, a haircut that has become a symbol for many Rays players and their fans.

No bandwagon jumper here. Tech Data Contracts Administrator Kathryn Cook has been supporting the Rays all season.

Tech Data product sales champion Oscar Chavez at Tech Data's video surveillance station -- one of the latest additions to the distributor's solutions center -- catches a glimpse of the Phillie Phanatic "sneaking on campus."

While most Tech Data employees are rooting for the Rays, there are conflicting loyalties among many of the company's baseball fans. Not only are there many Philadelphia natives working in Clearwater, but the Phillies spring training and minor league home, Bright House Field, is also based in Clearwater.

Tampa fans have been known to ring loud and proud their cowbells. Here's one proudly on display in the executive office suite at Tech Data's corporate headquarters.

Of course, Tech Data has offices all across the country. Here, Joe Scaturro, Rob Spuler, Sovann Eang, Doug McManus, John Ahlers, Bennie Carter, George Campbell of Tech Data's Swedesboro, N.J., logistics center show off their support for the Phillies.
