Fresh from the recent XChange Public Sector event, here’s a look at some of the products catching solution providers’ eyes as they target state and local governments, education and health care clients.

ATEN Secure KVM

ATEN previewed several TAA (Trade Agreements Act)-compliant products developed specifically to target the government market. Among them was the forthcoming Secure KVM, a secure military-grade KVM switch targeted at end users who operate multiple computers between secure and non-secure networks. In addition to TAA compliance, it also meets EAL2 and NIAP certifications, and the company is in the process of earning the new EVAL2+ certification.

eFolder

eFolder touted the reliability of its data protection and disaster recovery services. ’I guarantee you our technology works, and it works all of the time,’ said Jan Spring, vice president of channel development at eFolder, during a presentation. ’In seven years, we’ve never lost a byte of data ... and we’ve never delivered one byte of corrupted data.’ Built to suit channel partner needs, its BDR (backup & disaster recovery) appliance features failover and is field upgradable, she said.

Xirrus Wi-Fi Array XN8

Xirrus showed off its Wi-Fi Array XN8, an integrated unit that includes wireless access points and an embedded Wi-Fi controller/switch. The XN8 features eight radios: four 802.11a/b/g radios and four 802.11a/n radios, as well as 36 integrated antennas.

Fujitsu Stylistic Q550

Fujitsu had a pre-production model of its Stylistic Q550 business-class tablet PC on-hand for solution providers to play with. It runs on the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system and features an anti-glare 10.1-inch screen that supports both indoor and outdoor use. It also includes WLAN, Bluetooth and optional mobile broadband connectivity support.

Bretford Network Ready Cart

Bretford’s just-launched Network Ready Cart stores, charges and secures mobile devices and makes them all portable. A look at the back shows more than 600 feet of cable neatly stored, and it comes pre-wired with room for up to 48 units. And it supports 110 and 220 voltage, making it ready for sale all over the world.

Samsung SyncMaster NC240

Samsung’s SyncMaster NC240 23.6-inch display was built to take advantage of desktop virtualization. It’s VMware-ready, optimized for use with VMware vSphere 4.5 and VMware View 4.5. Since the unit features no on-board CPU, operating system or device drivers, the endpoints are virtually maintenance-free.

D-Link Securicam IP Cameras

D-Link brought its full array of business-class solutions to the conference, including its lineup of IP surveillance products. Its camera lineup is comprised of IP Cameras, Wireless IP Cameras and IP Cameras with Power over Ethernet. Team those up with the vendor’s networking and storage products, plus video management applications from its software partners for a full IP surveillance solution.

Global Emergency Resources HC Standard Patient Tracking

HC Standard Patient Tracking from Global Emergency Resources, a Motorola partner, enables first responders to capture video, audio and still images from emergency sites, assign and scan patient tracking information and share patient vital signs in near real-time. It runs on Motorola’s MC75 Worldwide Enterprise Digial Assistant.
