Guagenti founded VAE in 1998. VAE's first customer was the U.S. Air Force, and the solution provider offered basic network integration services. Today, the integrator provides full service IT consulting with expertise in voice, data networking, information technologies and enterprise management. In addition to the USAF, this woman-led solution provider serves all branches of the DoD, as well as the University of Kentucky Health Care, FBR Bank and Towers Perrin. In 2011, revenue was nearly $19 million, up a whopping 1,233 percent from 2009.
