Though MySpace became obsolete with the rise of other social media networks like Facebook and Twitter, singer-songwriter and actor Justin Timberlake, along with a couple of partners, purchased the now-antiquated blogging site for $35 million in June 2011. From his Twitter account, Timberlake unveiled the "new MySpace" to his followers. Rather than another social media site with high hopes of appealing to the masses, MySpace has been revamped to focus on the music industry.
