At the beginning of 2013, Accenture was awarded an eight-month contract to automate the Department of Defense's Earned Value Center. Falling under the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), the Center checks that contractors are reporting accurately. Accenture has been contracted to deploy analytics and improve performance, the company said, replacing a system full of backlogs from manual processes for reviewing contractor actions. While the contract was smaller in size, it was a "massive undertaking," showing how Accenture could create a full system for a department that previously worked manually, Accenture spokesperson Joanne Veto said.
