Cisco notched a 16 percent increase in its 2014 brand value compared with the prior year. That was good for a move up five spaces in the Top 100 to No. 72.
The company's been chatty about the Internet of Everything and said at the Cisco Partner Summit in March that it has 700 new IoE-related products lined up. It's a smart move for the brand as the buzzworthy concept becomes more and more a reality with everyone from automakers to telecommunications companies talking about it.
Cisco's also pushing partners on more strategic marketing efforts in hopes of better ROI or "revenue marketing." The company's done this through its Business Value Practitioner partner certification and also said it has helped generate about $2 billion in leads for partners in less than a year.
