P.F. Chang's May Be Latest Security Breach Victim
P.F. Chang's China Bistro is investigating reports of a security breach involving credit and debit card data stolen from its restaurants in the U.S., according to a Reuters story. If confirmed, the popular restaurant chain would be the latest victim of a cyberattack, along with recent high-visibility security breaches at Target, eBay and Michaels Stores.
The chain said it was investigating after KrebsOnSecurity, a website that covers computer security and cybercrime, reported that data from thousands of credit and debit cards appeared on an underground website used by criminals Monday. While P.F. Chang's could not confirm the breach, KrebsOnSecurity said the data came from cards used at the restaurants between March 1 and May 19.
