10 Hot Tech Deals For Cyber Monday 2015

Cyber Monday 2015

If you prefer spending your post-Thanksgiving evening in a tryptophan-induced haze somewhere between your bed and your couch instead of gearing up for Black Friday with the "have-to-have-it" consumers waiting outside of the mall, Cyber Monday is for you.

Cyber Monday -- the Monday after Thanksgiving -- is the biggest cyber shopping day of the year for U.S. retailers, and companies like Walmart, Target and Best Buy are reaching out to the expanding number of online consumers looking to shop without having to change out of their pajamas.

This year, companies are starting early, extending Cyber Monday later and releasing deals at different times throughout the day to entice keyboard warriors to their sites.

CRN has compiled a list of some of the best Cyber Monday deals and included a few tricks and surprises to look out for while you browse deals on your favorite browser.

Amazon: A Year Of Unlimited Storage

Amazon is letting loose a number of Cyber Monday deals, including a bunch of knickknacks and toys.

However, one of the online retail giant's largest deals is a great buy on an item most likely not on a wish list, but still something to keep your eye on.

Amazon is offering a year of unlimited storage on its Amazon Cloud Drive at almost 92 percent off: $5, compared with the normal $60 price tag. It's a steal for those who might actually use the unlimited space.

Dell: Samsung 55-Inch 4K Smart Ultra HDTV

Televisions are the ultimate holiday gift for the tech-toy lover in the family, and let's face it, they make a great gift that everyone in the house can enjoy.

This year, Dell has released a number of deals on TVs that will be available for purchase on Cyber Monday. But one of its best Cyber Monday deals is for a 55-inch 4K Smart Ultra HDTV priced at less than half its regular price.

On Cyber Monday, this TV will be ticketed at $997.99 instead of its regular price of $1,999.99. But be careful! Dell is timing its deals throughout the day, with some deals to be released at 8 a.m. Eastern and others at noon. This deal will end at 6:59 p.m. Monday.

Dell: Insperon 15 5000 Series (AMD)

Dell is mixing up its sales throughout Cyber Monday, releasing some "door busters" at 8 a.m. and others at noon.

One of its big deals, which takes effect at the start of Cyber Monday, is a laptop marked down by more than half.

The Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series laptop will be priced at $399.99 at 8 a.m. Eastern, $500 below its regular $899 price-tag.

The computer comes with an AMD A10-87000 Quad-Core APU processor, is preloaded with Windows 8.1, and has 8 GB of memory and a 1-TB hard drive, all controlled from its 15.6-inch touch-screen display.

Dell says an unlimited number of the laptops will be available, but in the small print, the vendor adds that there are limited quantities at the low price. So, if this is the one, you might want to power up your current laptop early Monday.

Wal-Mart: Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Tablet

Wal-Mart will not release all its Cyber Monday deals until the day before. However, the retail behemoth let a few deals slip out this week as it gets ready for the biggest online shopping day of the year.

One of its biggest tech offerings is for the Microsoft Surface Pro 3. The tablet will be on sale for $599, a $200 savings off its regular $799 price tag.

Wal-Mart has also declared that it will open sales at 8 p.m. Sunday to avoid a midnight rush to its website and to make the online shopping experience a little more pleasant for customers who may not wish to stay awake until midnight, the company said.

Target: Xbox One 500GB 'Gears Of War: Ultimate Edition' Bundle

Target has announced that it will release the Xbox One 500 GB "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition" Bundle for $299.99, a 14 percent savings off its regular $349.99 price tag.

The bundle, which includes a full-game download of "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition," a Superstar Cole multiplayer skin, and early access to the "Gears of War 4" beta -- will also come with a free EA sports game and free three-month Xbox Live subscription.

Target also revealed recently that it will take an additional 15 percent off everything on its website during Cyber Monday for buyers who use the promo code CYBER 15.

Shoppers will be able to pair the 15 percent offer with other deals running as part of the company's ’10 Days of Deals."

Dell: Garmin Vivofit Activity Tracker

Fitness trackers continue to be popular. With apps that link the collected data with your phone, laptop and cloud platforms, these gadgets can help you lose weight, improve fitness and keep you motivated with a long-term workout regimen.

Dell will sell the Garmin Vivofit activity tracker for $29.99, saving buyers 62 percent of the regular $79.99 price.

The deal will open as one of Dell's "door buster" sales on Cyber Monday and will be available as of 8 a.m. Eastern time while supplies last.

Dell: Insperon 23 7000 Series With Touchscreen Desktop

If you're in the market for a desktop this season, Dell is selling its 23 7000 series for $499.99 on Cyber Monday, a markdown of 54 percent from its regular price of $1,089.99.

The computer is one of Dell's thinnest 23-inch all-in-one desktops and comes with a fourth-generation Core i6 Intel processor, Windows 8.1, 8 GB of memory and a 1-TB hard drive.

The Insperon will be available at this price only for a limited time on Cyber Monday and is scheduled to be available at 8 a.m. as one of Dell's "door buster" deals.

Best Buy: LG 55-Inch 2160p 4K LED Smart Ultra HDTV

Best Buy is a favorite online and in-store shopping spot for tech lovers. One of its biggest deals this year is an HDTV marked down more than 40 percent.

The LG 55 inch 2160p 4K LED Smart Ultra HDTV will be sold on Cyber Monday for $699.99, $500 less than its regular $1,199.99 price tag.

This smart television has a resolution four times higher than full HD and can connect to the Internet, stream smartphone content and browse the Web wirelessly.

Groupon: Vizio Sound Bars Or Stand

Groupon may not be the first place one thinks of when surfing the Web for great tech gifts, but this online deal spot is surprisingly turning out some of the season's greatest buys.

One of the deals on the site is for the choice of two different Vizio Sound Bars, or a Vizio Sound Stand, for $59.99. The price tag for any of the three is 50 percent off the regular price tag of $119.99. The deal includes the option of a 29-inch or 38-inch Sound Bar or a Sound Stand.

All the speakers come with Bluetooth capabilities, a 30-day warranty, DTS TruVolume and TruSurround enhancements and a 30-day warranty from Visio. The stand can hold a TV up to 55 inches with a max weight of 60 pounds.

Groupon: Hitachi LCD 3,000-Lumen Projector

Groupon is also offering a deal on a Hitachi LCD 3,000-lumen projector that is great for movies with the family, work presentations or watching a big game.

The projector is going to be on a 64 percent sale at $499.99, $880 less than its normal $1,379 price. This projector ships in two days and includes hookups for HDMI, VGA and composite devices. Weighing in at 6.8 pounds, this projector is not completely portable, but with dimensions of 9.7 inches wide, 12.6 inches long and 3.4 inches high, it could easily fit into a backpack for business or school presentations.

Be careful: Groupon has only a limited number of these available and although this item is available as this is written, the site has been known to end its deals early, even ones listed as available on its Cyber Monday page.
