Embedded Systems
The embedded systems space is one that has provided strong opportunity for the custom systems channel, but has not yet seemed to hit its full stride. Microsoft, Redmond, Wash., is working to change that -- in part with activities, including its embeddedSPARK Challenge this summer.
The competition calls for developers to create solutions based on Windows Embedded CE technology. The theme Microsoft has set for this challenge: "Media Explosion." Seventy-five semifinalists made this initial cut.
System builders considering the potential for building embedded solutions may want to consider these eight finalist entries that we've looked at--and gauge whether this area is now ripe for opportunity.
