Dimension Data Offers Microsoft In Private Clouds

Dimension Data, the Johannesburg, South Africa-based cloud and IT services provider, on Thursday said it will offer Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 and Microsoft Lync 2010 cloud services through its private cloud.

Dimension Data’s Managed Cloud Platform will let enterprises access Microsoft’s business productivity capabilities while it manages the underlying infrastructure and applications.

Red Hat Unveils CloudForms For Hybrid Clouds

Raleigh, N.C.-based Red Hat on Wednesday released CloudForms, an open, hybrid cloud management platform that allows companies to build and manage Infrastructure-as-a-Service, hybrid clouds.

CloudForms will let companies build hybrid clouds, providing a variety of infrastructures that span multiple virtualization platforms and includes public cloud resources. Users can also build and manage applications in their cloud

Red Hat’s infrastructure portfolio also includes Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, JBoss Enterprise Middleware, Red Hat Storage and thousands of certified ISV applications.

CA AppLogic Platform Available Through Ingram Micro

CA Technologies, of Islandia, N.Y. on Tuesday said its CA AppLogic cloud platform is available to channel partners in the U.S. via the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace. Solution providers and MSPs can use Ingram Micros’ online marketplace to sell, buy, provision and obtain invoices for their cloud services.

Distributor Ingram Micro will market, sell and support the CA AppLogic platform to its channel partners in the U.S. Availability in Canada is expected in summer 2012.

Terremark Teams With EMC For Cloud Services

Terremark and EMC announced a partnership Wednesday to deliver cloud-based products and services with EMC storage, backup and replication technologies.

Terremark, a subsidiary of Verizon, will standardize its private cloud business on Hopkington, Mass.-based EMC’s infrastructure technologies and offer customers EMC-based public and hybrid clouds deployments.

In addition, the companies said Terremark has now reached Platinum-level in the EMC Velocity Service Provider Partner Program.

DLT, Eucalyptus Help Government Agencies Create Clouds

DLT Solutions, a VAR specializing in government IT software and services based in Herndon, Va., and Goleta, Calif.-based cloud provider Eucalyptus Systems, teamed up to help public sector organizations to build on-premise Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) cloud platforms.

The partnership will enable government agencies to deploy private and hybrid clouds using their existing IT infrastructure.
