CA, Logicalis Partner To Deliver Cloud Business Services

CA Technologies and managed services provider Logicalis said they will partner to offer cloud management features to business customers.

Logicalis, of Farmington Hills, Mich., can use Islandia, N.Y.-based CA's technology in its managed services and hosted cloud offerings. Logicalis customers will be able to use CA Automation Suite for Clouds to build private and hybrid clouds with management, monitoring and provisioning services.

Logicalis has partnered with several vendors, including Cisco, HP, IBM, CA Technologies, NetApp, VMware and ServiceNow.

Rackspace Sets Up OpenStack, Private Cloud

Rackspace on Wednesday released its OpenStack Private Cloud, code-named ’Alamo.’

Following the launch of its public cloud infrastructure on July 31, Rackspace's private cloud lets companies install and run private cloud environments using the OpenStack compute platform, called Nova.

Rackspace said that with its OpenStack public and private clouds, customers will be able to use hybrid clouds to customize the management of their IT resources.

’We believe that the majority of our customers and cloud users will be running hybrid cloud environments for a long time,’ Jim Curry, general manager of Private Cloud business at Rackspace, said in a statement.

Neptune's Cloud Unveils Channel Service

Neptune's Cloud launched a low-cost public cloud infrastructure service aimed at the channel.

The Virginia Beach, Va.-based company said the service targets SMBs and will be provided through a network of VARs and MSPs.

Neptune said it will offer up to 35 percent discounts for its Service Partners while still offering a low-cost cloud service to customers.

The company, which focuses its services in the Mid-Atlantic region, offers its Control Panel to allow Service Partners to easily manage customer accounts, administer cloud resources and provide simple billing at a lower cost. It also provides a dashboard-based toolbox similar to an App store for distribution and licensing of Neptune Partners' tools.

NJVC Unveils Cloud Program For SaaS Providers

NJVC has released an infrastructure hosting and managed services offering for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers.

Called NJVC SaaS Accelerate, the service offers infrastructure management components that help deploy secure hardware, software and networking infrastructure for application hosting.

NJVC SaaS Accelerate also provides marketing services to support business development tied to revenue targets and built into the hosting services fee structure. These services include joint marketing collateral, public relations, online marketing and other support programs. Customers can work with NJVC advisers to define the package of services they need.

CloudBees Expands Services For Java Developers

CloudBees, a Java Platform-as-a-Service provider, said it has expanded the CloudBees Partner Ecosystem, which makes Java services available to CloudBees Platform users, by releasing new services. With the introduction of new services, developers will get access to more platform-based services that will help them build, test and deploy Java applications in the cloud, according to CloudBees.

The new partner services include HP ALI, a service that aggregates information from multiple development tools to establish ALM traceability; Librato Metrics, a cloud-based service to help organizations monitor their operations, whether it's a cloud or data center infrastructure, applications, or business metrics; and EnterpriseDB Postgres Plus Cloud Database, a service enabling organizations to use elastic and scalable Database as a Service environments while freeing DBAs and app developers from administering modern database environments.
