2. Hybrid Cloud
Even though enterprise, in particular, is drawn to private cloud solutions, they can't always use that for everything, RiverMeadow President and CEO Mark Shirman said. Calling it cloud "sprawl," Shirman said that smaller projects and individuals push at least some of the enterprise's business into public clouds.
"For many reasons, the larger enterprises do not want too much of their environments in the public cloud ... With that said, they need a way to communicate and operate in a hybrid environment of public/private, with tools and vendors and architectures that provide for cloud/server mobility," Shirman said.
For everyone else, the hybrid cloud is a great compromise for MSPs and clients who are hesitant about the cloud, Jason Magee, director of worldwide channels at LabTech, said.
"I think the hybrid will prevail," Magee said.
