Petaflop Power
Researchers at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre in Germany Tuesday took the wraps off the Jugene. Called Europe's speediest supercomputer, Jugene is based on IBM's Blue Gene/P architecture, and can perform up to one trillion computing operations per second (1 petaflop/s), which equals the computing power of more than 50,000 PCs or 200,000 laptops.
