Startups that offer software for securing, analyzing and managing enterprise data dominated our list of venture capital wins in September. Among those hauling in funding during the month were big-data platform provider MapR Technologies and two companies focused on data management in hybrid cloud environments, Nasuni and Elastifile. Companies specializing in security for IoT devices and container-based applications also made our list of VC deals affecting the IT channel last month. On the investor side, Lightspeed Venture Partners was the most active firm on our list, with participation in three of the 10 funding rounds.
