Apple's Rejects
Ahhh, Apple, you certainly are one fickle mistress when it comes to what apps you deem worthy for your illustrious App Store. While the App Store has been around only a little over a year, it's already hit the 1.5 billion applications downloaded milestone. But among the 65,000-plus apps Apple currently offers for the iPhone and iPod touch, there are ghosts of apps that never were; or apps that were and then suddenly weren't. The latest app to join that fold is Google Voice, which Apple rejected from the App Store without reason.
Whether they're deemed obscene, pornographic, inappropriate or just plain stupid, Apple wields a mighty sword when it dictates what Apps make it in and which ones are relegated to a live of "could've been."
