This is the first smartphone running on Samsung's homemade Tizen operating system. Samsung unveiled the phone in early June and will release it in Russia in the third quarter. Samsung, the largest maker of Android devices, anticipates Tizen smartphones will make up to 15 percent of its annual shipments, so this is the first of many Samsung smartphones running on the open-source OS. Behind its 4.8-inch Super ALMOLED display (720 x 1,280, 16 million colors) lies a 2.3GHz quad-core processor and 16 GB of storage. It has an 8-megapixel primary camera and a 2.1-megpixel front-facing camera. The price of the device is not yet available.
