6 Apple Watch Apps Making Their Debut At Dreamforce 2015

Is Salesforce Ready To Wear?

Next month's Dreamforce conference certainly won't be a notable event for those interested in high fashion, but expect many of the Salesforce developers attracting attention at the conference to be demonstrating apps that are ready to wear.

The Salesforce ecosystem, it seems, has been busy building apps on the Salesforce1 platform for the Apple Watch, allowing a range of new applications powered by Salesforce data. Salesforce has offered its partners an easy-to-use platform called Salesforce Wear to accelerate wearable innovation that provides developers with sample code, documentation, demos and reference apps for a variety of wearable devices.

Salesforce said 20 new apps will make their debut for the Apple Watch. Here are six that have been unveiled so far.

BetterWorks Wear

BetterWorks has won many a notable customer by developing technology that taps into the Salesforce Analytics Cloud to provide users a platform for tracking their enterprise goals.

With the BetterWorks Wear app that will be on display at Dreamforce, companies will be able to leverage the power of wearable technology to connect employees around common goals.

A retailer, for example, can equip sales associates with Apple Watches running the app to keep them constantly updated in real-time on their progress toward team and individual sales goals.

ContactWorld

NewVoiceMedia, a cloud communications platform developer backed by Salesforce Ventures, has built a business on leveraging Salesforce to empower call centers serving enterprises and small businesses.

The company is introducing an app called ContactWorld that intends to make sure companies never miss calls from valued customers by bringing notifications directly to the wrist. Just glance down at your Apple Watch to see who's calling, and how important that customer is based on sales stats.

ContactWorld also improves customer service by integrating data from Salesforce, allowing sales and service reps to see the status of sales leads, or insights like customer retention risk.

FieldExpert

ClickSoftware, an Israeli-based developer of mobile workforce management and optimization tools for companies of all sizes, will debut FieldExpert, an Apple Watch app delivering real-time logistical information about customers.

The app seeks to improve the productivity of field service agents by allowing them to review their upcoming schedules, update service requests, schedule additional services based on customer requests and share customer updates.

T askRay

TaskRay, an Apple Watch app from Bracket Labs, focuses on addressing two major challenges that project managers grapple with: keeping track of the status of tasks in real time and quickly and effectively communicating with stakeholders.

TaskRay attempts to unify co-workers collaborating through Salesforce with a shared to-do list that facilitates project tracking management and communications. The app offers easy-to-read gauges to check a project's status.

A feature called Dictation also allows users to speak updates into their Apple Watch, which converts the voice memo into text and then automatically syncs with Salesforce.

Vlocity Wear

Vlocity has developed a wearable app that connects Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud. The bridge between the two Salesforce clouds allows customer representatives to gather profile data they can use to initiate tasks that provide better customer service and drive new business.

Directly from their Apple Watches, representatives can review customer profiles, grasp concerns and initiate tasks for the extended account team to complete.

Approvals Intelligence

Apttus used the Salesforce Wear Developer Pack to build Approvals Intelligence, an app that seeks to extend business processes to wearables to help improve mobility and productivity at work.

Approvals Intelligence for Apple Watch seeks to help business leaders make informed, analytics-driven decisions that speed the production of quotes from wherever they are.

Powered by Salesforce's new analytics platform, Wave, it provides data-driven decision support for green-lighting quotes, approving discounts, and facilitating line-item reviews.

Coming Soon To A Wrist Near You

An additional 14 apps are on their way from the following Salesforce developer partners: Alpine Metrics, CloudSense, Fairsail, Financial Force, Footprints, Heywire, InsideSales, Point of Reference, Proximity Insights, Remedyforce, Sage, ServiceMax, Skedulo, and Team Spirit.
