Aerohive Networks, which is battling networking behemoth Cisco and HP Aruba, is striving to move beyond Wi-Fi-vendor-only status to a cloud software/mobility company.

Aerohive CEO David Flynn says his company is providing partners with more services and better margins than larger competitors like Hewlett-Packard and Cisco. The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based wireless specialist has also been enhancing its channel offerings by launching an Aerohive Advantage Program for partners and bringing in a new channel chief.

In an interview with CRN, Flynn spoke out on what he called HP Aruba "strong-arm tactics" in the wake of HP's $3 billion acquisition of Aruba, which was finalized in May.
