Game Time

With the NFL season right around the corner, Extreme Networks – the official Wi-Fi and analytics provider for the NFL – is getting ready for one of its biggest years ever. Following last year's AFC Championship networking snafu, Extreme Networks is already preparing for America's biggest game as the official wireless provider for Super Bowl 51 at NRG Stadium in Houston.

"We had people in their command center during Super Bowl 50. We saw how they augmented and the different things required for the Super Bowl," said Norman Rice, executive vice president of global marketing, corporate development, Extreme Networks' Stadium and Venue Business Unit, in an interview with CRN. "It's a national security event. So it's Homeland Security that actually governs the Super Bowl."

Stadium expert Rice discusses how solution providers are involved inside stadiums, competition from Cisco Systems, setting IT policies for the NFL, and more.
