Symantec 2009 PartnerEngage Award Winners

At the 2009 Symantec PartnerEngage partner conference, held Nov. 4-6 at the JW Marriott in Orlando, Fla., Symantec executives selected a handful of the most outstanding VARs, LARs and distributors that have gone above and beyond expectations to drive sales, win deals and grow their businesses. Here are Symantec's top performers.

Ingram Micro Canada took Distribution Sales Champ Of The Year honors, accepted by Mike Holt (center). The award was presented by Symantec CEO Enrique Salem (left), and Randy Cochran, vice president of North American channel sales, (right).



The company offers a broad array of solutions and services to approximately 170,000 resellers by distributing and marketing hundreds of thousands of IT products worldwide from nearly 1,500 suppliers. Ingram Micro Canada also provides customizable services for order management and fulfillment, contract manufacturing, contract warehousing, customer care, credit and collection management services and other value chain services. As the world's largest technology distributor and one of the largest sales, marketing and logistics companies, Ingram Micro serves 150 countries and is the only global IT distributor with operations in Asia.

The LAR Sales Champ Of The Year award was given to CDW, accepted by Sherry De La Torres (center). The award was presented by Symantec CEO Enrique Salem (left) and Randy Cochran, vice president of North American channel sales.



CDW is a leading provider of technology solutions for business, government and education organizations, helping customers choose the right technology products and services to best meet their unique needs.



The company's technology specialists offer expertise in designing customized solutions, as well as the implementation and long-term management of those solutions. Areas of focus include notebooks, desktops, printers, servers and storage, unified communications, security, wireless, power and cooling, networking, software licensing and mobility solutions.

Stepping up to take the Canada VAR Of The Year award was Lanworks, accepted by Ves Bjelakovic, vice president of sales channels, (right). The award was presented by Fred Patterson, Symantec director of enterprise channels for Canada, (left).





Lanworks' portfolio of solutions is centered around core information technology infrastructure.



Its business revolves around five pillars: Lifecycle Management, Security, IP Communications, Advanced Infrastructure and Collaboration.

Coming all the way from Brazil to accept the Latin America VAR Of The Year award, was Silvio Ebernardo (right), director of partners and alliances, on behalf of Allen Informatica. The award was presented by Douglas Wallace, Symantec LAM channel and alliances director.



Allen Informatica was recognized by Symantec as a leader in the Information Technology market, specifically in the sale of products, training and implementation of services.



The company operates in nine capital cities in Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, So Paulo, Braslia, Salvador, Recife, Belo Horizonte, Vitria, Porto Alegre and Curitiba.

Adam Schutska, chief technology officer, (center), stepped up to accept Symantec's U.S. Rookie Of The Year award for Shelton, Conn.-based Precision Computer Services (PCS). Schutska is photographed with Salem (left) and Cochran (right).



During the award announcement, Symantec executives said that PCS has become more than just a reseller, hailing the company as a one-stop, full-service technology integrator, with services that range from product procurement and systems integration, to application hosting and co-location services.



PCS, one of New England's premier networking partners, maintains a highly trained team of certified system engineers, sales professionals and manufacturer-authorized service technicians.

Symantec honored GTSI as its U.S. Public Sector VAR Of The Year, accepted by Todd Leto (center). The award was presented by Salem (left) and Cochran (right).



Specifically, the company employs Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) as a framework for government agencies to align the acquisition, deployment, management, support, refresh and disposal of technology to business objectives and budgets.



This multi-phased methodology enables GTSI to help agencies realize the full benefit of their technology infrastructures.

Symantec called out Piscataway, N.J.-based Software House International (SHI) as U.S. LAR Of The Year, accepted by Bill Santos (center), general manager for services development. The award was presented by Rich Spring (left), SVP of sales, and Cochran (right).



SHI was lauded by executives for transforming itself from a $1 million "software-only" regional reseller into a more than $3 billion global provider of information technology products and services.



SHI is known for its dynamic, scalable, innovative solutions delivered with world-class customer support, which make it a comprehensive IT hardware, software and professional services solution provider, Symantec executives said.

This year, Symantec VAR Of The Year honors went to Forsythe, accepted by Suzanne Tenney (center), business development manager. The award was presented by Rich Spring (left), SVP of sales, and Cochran.



Forsythe helps organizations solve business problems through technology, helping customers optimize cost and spending, manage risk and improve performance in every area of their IT infrastructure. In addition, the Skokie, Ill.-based company helps customers assess, design, procure, build and support infrastructure throughout the technology lifecycle.



The company specializes in helping customers use technology to address business challenges, including how to align and operate IT, manage risk, protect and manage data, optimize the data center, enhance IT infrastructure, and source and manage technology.
