RetailVision Middle East, held in Dubai Nov. 2-5, gave vendors access to the fastest-growing consumer electronics retailers in the world.

An industry panel hosted by Bob Snyder, the founder and editor in chief of The Distribution Channel, kicked off the show by discussing the future of consumer electronics in the Middle East. The bottom line: There is no hotter market in the world.

Neil Meredith, general manager at Exspect, which is winning raves from retailers for its customizable MiBag, addresses retailers at the show.

Sharaf DG is THE consumer electronics destination in Dubai. The one-stop shop for electronics stocks more than 15,000 products from 300 vendors across 100,000-plus square feet of retail space.

Jarir, which bills itself as a combination of Staples, Barnes & Noble and CompUSA, is the No. 1 and largest retail chain in the Middle East for IT products, office supplies and books.

B.Tech, the largest specialized retail chain for consumer electronics and household appliances in Egypt, has achieved consistent sales growth of more than 30 percent for the past five years.

Eon, which opened in June 2006, bills itself as a one-of-a-kind smart home and office concept. The retailer has five stores covering the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain and is still expanding. It provides everything from home and office security systems to energy management to gaming to digital home entertainment.

Delta Electronics, a maker of high-performance projectors and digital signage displays, gave a bang-up presentation to Middle East retailers.

One of the highlights of every RetailVision event is the ability to mix it up and find the latest and greatest consumer electronics products to hit the market.
