Lindows Touts No-Install Linux

The new LindowsCD--a stripped-down version of the San Diego, Ca.-based company's Lindows 4.0 OS--targets users who want to try out Linux but don't want to go through the hassle of actually installing the operating system, partition a hard drive to add another OS, or remove the existing operating system.
Among the possible uses, said Lindows.com, would be deployments in testing labs and at companies where Linux is needed only part-time.
LindowsCD offers some, but not all, of the features of Lindows 4.0, including support for plug-and-play-style hardware detection; Microsoft Office-compatible business applications; and support for MP3, Real Audio and Flash.
To launch Linux, users simply insert the CD into the PC's drive and reboot. When they're finished with Linux, the original operating system returns after removing the disc and rebooting.
