BEA Systems Tuesday made its all of the products in its highly anticipated WebLogic 8.1 line generally available, a company spokesman said.

Available now from the San Jose, Calif.-based Java software vendor are BEA WebLogic Integration 8.1, BEA WebLogic Portal 8.1 and BEA WebLogic Workshop 8.1. BEA WebLogic Platform 8.1, a combination of those products integrated into one suite, also became available Tuesday, the spokesman said.

BEA already made available its WebLogic Server 8.1, the application server component of its software stack, on March 31.

BEA WebLogic Integration 8.1 now is available for $62,000 per CPU. That includes a clustered version of WebLogic Server 8.1 and an instance of BEA WebLogic Workshop 8.1.

WebLogic Portal 8.1 costs $57,000 per CPU, and also includes a clustered version of WebLogic Server 8.1 and an instance of BEA WebLogic Workshop 8.1.

WebLogic Workshop 8.1 is bundled with all other BEA WebLogic products at no cost, and free development seats are available for one year as part of the BEA dev2dev subscription program.

Finally, WebLogic Platform 8.1, including a clustered version of WebLogic Server 8.1; an instance of WebLogic Portal 8.1; WebLogic Integration 8.1; WebLogic JRockit 8.1 Java Virtual Machine; and BEA WebLogic Workshop 8.1, costs $90,000 per CPU.

All of the products can be downloaded now from www.bea.com. Solution providers also can receive free development seats for all of the products for one year as part of the BEA dev2dev subscription program.

The WebLogic 8.1 products mark the first time BEA is merging application development and integration in one platform. The company is betting on this strategy to help differentiate itself as an application infrastructure provider, now that its traditional business--the application server market--has become one component of a larger stack of application infrastructure.
