Microsoft is naming Peter Boit, a 15-year veteran at the company, to a new role as vice president of enterprise partners.

Most recently, Boit was vice president of Microsoft's Worldwide Commercial Sector group. In previous stints he had been vice president Microsoft Industry Solutions Group and headed up e-commerce efforts.

Boit's Worldwide Commercial Sector group reported into the Enterprise Partner Group headed by corporate vice president Simon Witts'.

Boit will continue to work closely with Witts and Allison Watson, corporate vice president of Worldwide Partner Group, a spokesman said.

Some Microsoft partners working large enterprise accounts complain that they often have to connect with both EPG and Microsoft Services group, leading to duplicated efforts and confusion.
