Every Xbox 360 console comes with a free one month trial membership to Xbox LIVE Gold. However, the Netflix feature is free only to Xbox LIVE Gold members who are also Netflix subscribers.
"We are creating a completely new social entertainment experience, and Xbox 360 will be the only video game system where you can access your library of instantly streamable movies from Netflix and turn any room into a virtual movie theater," said John Schappert, corporate vice president of Interactive Entertainment LIVE, Software and Services Business at Microsoft, in a statement.
For the more experienced Xbox user, Microsoft said it is adding an avatar store sometime in the Spring that will feature customizable clothing and animations. The company has not released any further information about the new avatar setup or pricing.
