Microsoft's first-half share grew when examining the value of deals closed by the company's channel partners. The numbers tell the tale: Microsoft partners closed 47.1 percent of all SMB database dollars through the channel -- more than twice that of second-place Oracle.

Once again, Oracle had the largest average transaction size, $65,980 and nearly twice that generated by Microsoft resellers.
