Most Proposals
Microsoft was the clear market leader in the first half of the year in terms of the value of proposals written with a storage management software component. The Redmond, Wash.-based vendor accounted for 21.5 percent share of the total dollars proposed by solution providers in that space from Jan. 1 through June 30, 2008. Microsoft was followed by, among others, IBM, HP, EMC and CA, all of which had far fewer proposals, but higher proposed average transaction sizes.
