Benefit To End User: | KIRA100 is the industry's first KVM on a chip -- system on a chip. Customers who buy servers with the KIRA100 chip can manage them at the BIOS level from anywhere over the Internet -- helping to accelerate repair and cut down maintenance costs. It is the first single chip with this capability that supports all the key manageability access standards -- IPMI, SSH, WS-MAN and SMASH-CLP. It allow managers to remotely control PCs, servers and attached media, monitor system health and restart devices. Because it is now small enough to be integrated directly on the motherboard, the KIRA chip can pick up signals from discrete components. An onboard chip has access to signals on the motherboard such as status of memory or CPU heat. In addition, the chip has a dedicated video controller for faster and higher-quality video. For end customers, the multi-standard, high-performance KIRA100 chip minimizes server downtime and increases IT productivity by enabling operating system installation, BIOS upgrade and power cycling on a server to be done remotely. |
