Lenovo is giving resellers one more way to differentiate themselves in the PC market: Under an agreement with Avaya, the computer-maker's future ThinkPad models will have integrated biometric technology in the way of fingerprint authentication. The portables will also include Avaya's VoIP software, which prevents unauthorized persons from making calls on the notebooks or accessing a user's contact lists or call history. In addition, the ThinkPads will employ Lenovo's ThinkLight screen bezel feature--an indicator that the user has new voice mails. Notebooks with the new functionality are expected to be available in the third quarter. |
