I was gonna write about an interesting service from MaintenanceNet that lets VARs better manage – yes, you guessed it – maintenance contracts with their clients (more tomorrow, I promise). But we’ll take a break from that regularly scheduled blog to mention today’s coverage of new vulnerability in Safari, the ubiquitous Mac Web browser.

The vunerability, reported by Macworld and originally identified by Secunia, can be used to launch a malicious script that masquerades as a safe file extension within a Zip archive.

I hate to say it, but have you noticed the dramatic rise in security-related Mac news of late? As I predicted earlier this year, the rise in stature that the Apple system line has enjoyed as a result of its Intel relationship has put it in the sights of the weirdos out there that get off on using their brains for nefarious purposes.
