In the contest to deliver the first Intel-based dual-core notebook, Acer has won. Now shipping in volume, the new Acer Aspire 5670 has a dual-core processor whose design is much better at handling multitasking and multithreaded applications than single-core processors.
The system has a 15.4-inch wide-screen display with a native resolution of 1,200 x 800, and it is driven by an ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 graphics card. Standard memory is 1,024 Mbytes, and every conceivable option is available.
