Microsoft To Import New Dynamics Field GM

Microsoft is importing an executive from its German subsidiary to be general manager for its Dynamics business apps push.

A company insider confirmed the stateside move of Christoph Wilfert, first reported in this blog. Google translates the entry from the German (kinda, sorta) here.

A Microsoft source confirmed this news, adding that Wilfert's will be a field position, inside Bill Veghte's field sales organization as opposed to Microsoft Business Solutions' corporate.

It also appears that Microsoft Germany has posted the news, although a language impairment (and Google translation failure) makes certainty impossible.

There's been a ton of speculation around MBS even before last week's news that Orlando Ayala is leaving the group, and the apparent delay in naming a successor to Doug Burgum. Burgum is the senior vice president running the organization. Thanks to Eberhard Heins for sending the Wilfert item.

Tidbits To Watch For At Next Week's WWPC

Some tips for next week's Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference: Don't miss the video. A certain high-ranking channel exec will play "Storm" in the X-men knock off. Another long-timer MBSer will be Wolverine. Any guesses?

For those wanting to plan ahead—next year's WWPC is slated for Denver. Oh, and next year's Tech Ed will very likely be back in the Big Easy. That's right, New Orleans!!!

The best line coming out of Warren Buffett's planned big-bucks gift to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation came from Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert who opined that the big media missed the real story behind the gift, which they characterized as the ultimate in self-less philanthropy.

Colbert says the real deal is simply that "Warren Buffett is so rich, he's hired Bill Gates to spend his money. It's a great day for capitalism."
