Who's Educating Whom?

Some of us were lucky enough to snag wireless access in the vendor's executive briefing center, and I'm sure not a few e-mails were read and responded to mid-session. I'm sure it must have been intimidating for the presenters to listen to all the keyboard rapping, clicks changing pace according to the importance of their message.

Just how much were we really hearing?

With that in mind, I loved this story about a similar phenomenon that's taking place in K-12 and collegiate classrooms across the United States. I pity the instructor that doesn't understand instant messaging. Speaking of which, if you have any aspirations in the education market, you need to think about this cultural stuff.
