Yahoo Eyes AOL

Now Yahoo has joined the list of suitors lining up for a piece of AOL. Once again, this tidbit is courtesy of The Wall Street Journal.

If what's been reported is true, Google, Comcast, Microsoft, and now Yahoo are all proposing some kind of alliance/buyout/co habitation with America Online. Remember AOL? The company that killed Time Warner? The dot-com warrier that disgraced itself with creative accounting practices?

Yahoo would dearly want all those AOL customers to use its search rather than Google's. Microsoft would have similar motivations for its MSN search.

Google and Comcast may or may not be teaming up in a bid to work with or align with AOL. In that case, Microsoft and Comcast, which own pieces of each other, could be on opposite sides of an AOL land grab, according to the WSJ.

Well, as Mini AOL says in his/her new blog: "It's nice to be wanted."
