The Daily App: Everynote for BlackBerry PlayBook
Research In Motion's BlackBerry PlayBook has just become immensely more usable and valuable, with the availability of Evernote - the nearly ubiquitous note-, data- and document management – on the platform.
Evernote is now a free app, available for download from the BlackBerry app world store; as a service, registration with the service is required.
We’ve long liked Evernote on the platforms where we’ve seen it develop: the Web, iPhone, iPad and Android. The app allows you to type or scribble notes directly into it, as well as take and store (in the cloud) audio notes and photographs.
The Evernote service then synchronizes the data so it is instantly available on all platforms it supports. In the case of the BlackBerry PlayBook, notes, audio clips or photos created on the device may now be immediately integrated over the air to every other device on your account. Evernote will support individual notes of up to 25 MB for a free account or 50 MB for a premium account that will run $5 per month or $45 per year. It does cap capacity at 60 MB of uploads per month for a free account or 1 GB a month for premium.
Even with the data caps, Evernote can be incredibly valuable for those who shift constantly between PCs and devices but still need access to their data.
Evernote is now easily one of the most important apps to the BlackBerry PlayBook platform, and is a must-have, must-use for anyone with RIM’s tablet.
